About Nada Rasta
After years of playing together in various groups in San Luis Obispo County, Paul Hanna (guitar), Rev. Rudie (bass), Nate Wallace (keys/vocals), and Ruben Urtiz (vocals) came together yet again to make music, but as the new act called Nada Rasta. Born in the beautiful wine country of California's Central Coast, this group quickly found niches in many of San Luis Obispo County's landmark pubs and bars. After a few changes to their lineup during Summer 2009, they ultimately received Chris Boyd (drums), and Chase Kossack (guitar). At this point, their debut album was already well into production. On a mission to build a strong following as they moved into 2010, these guys relentlessly processed new material, constantly refined the old, and made big pushes to create audiences that enjoyed bonding with them personally and musically. As of early 2010, after thankfully receiving several opportunities to open for many of their favorite acts, such as The Supervillains, Steel Pulse, Iration, and Tomorrows Bad Seeds, the band finally finished production of their first album, titled "Now or Never," available on iTunes and the like!! Recorded at Kip Stork's Avalon Studios in San Luis Obispo, the album offers a huge variety of sounds, characteristic of this group's various incarnations and influences. With their debut record under heir belt, the band began venturing farther from home to try to ignite audiences elsewhere. Then, in June 2010, Nada Rasta finished victoriously in New Rock 1073's "SLO & Dysfunctional" Battle of the Bands. After working for 3 months to remain in the competition against so many other premier groups, the band got to play their hearts out for family and friends at the Final Show right in their hometown. The win also netted the group regular airplay of their single, "Button," on New Rock Radio.and much more since then.New members Keelay Carpenter and Conner Daily add in 2013 Upcoming shows are now listed under the SHOW DATES tab.
