Light Weight

Light Weight officially formed in October 2013 and has quickly become a recognizable name and a highly recommended group. The band has been invited to play private and corporate events, weddings, casinos, and country clubs. Light Weight has played at a political rally for a prior Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden. The line-up consists of Katie Blake on lead vocals, Matt Rinkunas on guitar, Joe O'Malley on bass, Tom MacDonald on keyboard and guitar, and John Gallas on drums. Each member stems from an extensive musical background that creates Light Weight's solid sound and chemistry. Katie began as lead vocalist of an all-girl original group The Window Shoppers and performed solo at events and functions throughout the area. Joe and Matt started as members of the original band Just a Thought and later moved to become the drummer and guitarist of popular bar band 1 Hot Mess. Tom is a classically trained musician who is making his debut as a band member. John received his first drum set when he was two and has been playing ever since. He spent the last three years drumming for Until Further Notice. Light Weight, often referred to as the "jukebox of cover bands" plays a significant amount of '60s,70s, '80s, ’90s, as well as today's hits. The group appeals to every generation's musical taste while making each recognizable song their own. Light Weight prides themselves on a diversified set that entices each audience member to participate. Excited and determined to make a big impact, Light Weight intends on a high-energy professional presentation while simultaneously enjoying a couple of beers with friends.
