BackRoads Booking Agency was founded in 2005 by current co-owner and President of the company, Marie Walker. Please Note: I AM NOT TAKING ON ANY MORE BLUES ARTISTS. Our office is located in Denver, Colorado. BackRoads Booking Agency has chosen to remain a Blues Artist agency with emphasis on “Quality” and NOT “Quantity.” For more than half a decade, we have represented some of the very finest musicians in the world and have become known throughout the industry as an agency that can be counted on for not only delivering great music but also for honesty, integrity, service and reliability. She has many fond memories of having Detroit’s finest musicians drop by the house. While she was a Los Angeles resident for 21 years, her interest in Blues music came full swing. After moving back "home"to Detroit in 2001, she met then-president, Wolfgang Spider, at a Detroit Blues Society event and he encouraged her to become a member. Being the Detroit Blues Society secretary for 2005, 2006, and 2007 was a truly rewarding experience for her. Currently, she is a member of The Blues Foundation, the Detroit Blues Society, and the Colorado Blues Society, where she was its secretary for a time. She is also a Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise junkie. Mem Shannon of New Orleans started her in the booking agency business. Marie's organizational skills and her honesty are strengths that provides with the best possible representation.
