Cheap Divorce

Cheap Divorce was formed in early 2012 by two old friends and former band-mates: Alex Delgado (guitar) and Nick LaMantia (drums). Alex, most recently coming from an Alternative Pop/rock group, and a Hardcore group, decided to go in a different direction this time around. Nick couldn't agree more, himself coming from another Hardcore/Metal group. The two studied Music in school; from Blues and Jazz, to Classical and Modern Pop, which is all reflected in their writing styles. After writing a few songs, guitarist Jerry Valencia was asked to join the band, bringing his Surf and Alternative playing styles to add to the eclectic group. Shortly after, bassist Paul Bennardo followed, coming from a broad variety of stylistic and musical backgrounds ranging from Metalcore to Adult Contemporary. Lastly, after several auditions, and one past vocalist, Ara Morton, a co - worker of Nick's from one of his day jobs playing music for children, ended our long, extravagant search. Bringing to the table his soulful melodies and powerful hooks, the five - piece hit the studio to record. Cheap Divorce was created to see exactly what would happen if a motley crew of five musicians, versed in various studies of music and production, were to band together to write music. The result was a lively blend of Rock of different eras; from Blues-influenced Classic Rock, to the first days of Punk and Alternative, you will hear it in their music.
