About From Whence We Came

‘From Whence We Came’ is a metal band from Bruges, Belgium. It started in 2011 with 2 brothers, Arend en Frodo Neels, which wanted to create music with influences of their favourite bands. After writing some new material, they went looking for other musicians to form a new project. During the search, they jammed out with a few people and finally the pieces fell in place with Ambroos Cooper on the drums, Ward Rosseel on bass and clean vocal and Ibe Verstraete on screams. Their project was named: ‘Eternal Rest’. As ‘Eternal Rest’ they did quite a lot of live shows to hone their musical skills and gain some fans. During this period they also went into the studio (Shellshock Studio) as a band for the first time and recorded a few demo tracks. A music video was made for the song ‘Let Go’ in 2014. The band kept on playing gigs and writing new material for a full album. In 2015 ‘Eternal Rest’ decided to go back to shellshock studio to record their debut. In the studio they chose to change their name to ‘From Whence We Came’ in order to prevent confusion with other bands. In April 2016 the album was released as ‘Prisoner Of Low Frequency’. The result from these recordings is an album full of influences from bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Killswitch Engage,… The CD is divided in three chapters and contains a variety of styles with metal at its core. As a tribute to their old band name, a song on the album was called ‘Eternal Rest’, for which a music video was recorded. From Whence We Came is a metal band from Bruges, Belgium
