Duende Dogs

He goes on to state; "These dark sounds are the mystery, the roots thrusting into the fertile loam known to all of us, ignored by all of us, but from which we get what is real in art. . . . ‘Duende is not in the throat; duende surges up from the soles of the feet. In Latin America the duende is also an imp, djinn, supernatural entity… Make of it what you will, but the trinity that is duende dogs express themselves through music & song ranging from the intimate & delicate to soaring, blistering sonic textures. Traces of VU filter through minglings of Rowland S. Howard & Sonic Youth, on a desert drive with David Lynch riding shotgun, heading to a midnight full moon mash up of The Jesus Lizard, Einstürzende Neubauten & Lift to Experience. It’s Rock n’ Roll Jim, but not as you know it…. duende dogs are grum on vocals & guitars, Joe Corcoran on bass, vocals & loops, & James Taylor on drums, percussion, vocals, loops & strange… grum has previously worked with artists such as Stagger Lee/ The Dagger Lees, Mick Pyro, Bic Runga, Autamata, Kaplin, R.S.A.G., Leo Pearson, Mick Flannery, Jason Stollsteimer, Cathy Davey, Jerry Fish et al. Joe & James (the jay jays) are rhythm section stalwarts of the Kilkenny scene, having played in several popular outfits including Sneaky Rinse & the Millrats. Like art itself, duende has faces that are both appealing and dangerous.
