About Foxy & The Hares

With a love for music and passion to create, Foxy and the Hares take us by storm on a musical adventure. Growing up in musical families, this group were no strangers to playing instruments and writing songs. "I knew I was going to be a singer when I was old enough to walk and talk," say's Katie Wallace. "I can still remember swinging on my swing set as a little girl and belting out Disney songs at the top of my lungs. We were a musical family, and my mother always told me to never stop chasing after my dreams and to live life happily." In August of 2005, Katie lost both her mother and her grandmother due to a fatal car crash at the age of 15. "Losing my mom and grandmother was a very tragic thing, but I believe that everything happens for a reason. Losing them was just the beginning of my struggles, but also a beginning to something so much greater." Katie, Coleby, and Luke met at school during their high school years. The three remained friends throughout their adult life and started writing, recording, and playing music in 2012. "The name Foxy and the Hares actually came to me before we had ever even started writing and playing together. I had been writing and recording some acoustic songs and always thought it would be cool to take this solo project and turn it into a band. I loved the concept of Foxy and the Hares because at the time the name seemed to coincide with lyrics to some of my songs." Say's Katie. Coleby Arnett grew up in a musical family as well, and started writing and playing guitar at the age of 8. "My father taught me a few basic chords, and I just sky rocketed from there," say's Coleby. Luke and became close friends when we were 12 years old. Luke says, "We both shared a love for music, and started playing and writing songs together for fun." Luke later started a music studio called "Blackroom Studios" in Mineola, TX where he would record for local bands as well as Coleby. Eventually Coleby and Luke took their show to the road in a metal band called "Of An Empire." During this time Katie's brother Collin Wallace was the drummer for Of An Empire, and reaquainted Katie and Coleby after four years without seeing each other. Coleby and Katie thought it would be fun to go to Blackroom Studios and have Luke help record a cover of them singing together. "The chemistry between the three of us was as if we had been playing music together for years," says Katie. "We literally recorded this cover in a matter of hours without ever even practicing together before," Katie continues. After recording a music video to their cover and posting it to youtube, the group was amazed at the result. "There was a point and time where our video was getting over 100 views a day, and this was something that we were just doing for fun," Coleby chuckles. Eventually Coleby and Katie decided to take their relationship to the next level and started dating. The duo continued to write songs together, and would go and record them at Blackroom Studios with Luke. After a year of recording, the three decided to join forces and form Foxy and the Hares. The band is currently recording their first full length album and are playing shows. "The sky is the limit with Foxy and the Hares, the goal is to wake up each day and perform for thousands of people. Music is what we do, and I hope that we can continue to do this and that we only get greater and stronger as a band," say's Katie. With a goal of releasing their full length album by summer of 2014, the group continues to play shows and conquer their dreams one day at a time. Enter the realm of dream and future pop
