About Forgetting Fame

Norwalk, Connecticut’s Forgetting Fame (FF) aspires to be everything that's missing from today’s music. They’re not in it for the fame, or the money for that matter, as their name clearly states... What they do want is to greet listening ears with a good time, hoping to meet and connect with people through music with a positive message. Forgetting Fame started in 2010 with Juan Velasquez on drums, Luis McElaney and Justin Ramirez on guitars, Alex Figueiras on bass, and Felipe Gomez on vocals. Under the original lineup they released their first EP, “The Story You Knew”, in the fall of 2011. By 2012, the group's lineup underwent some changes with the loss of Alex, and Felipe. However, the band quickly solidified with the addition of vocalist Danny “Fish” Fishkind, and bassist Mikey Feliciano. The band recorded their first single under the new lineup, “Close The Casket”, with producer Johhny Franck in 2013, and began booking shows in their local circuit; making a name for themselves in the Connecticut scene. 2015 was a big year for the band, with the release of their first studio album, which they recorded with Andrew Baylis in the spring, entitled “Don’t Look Down.” During the Summer of that same year, the band put out their first music video for their song “A Life Worth Living”, off of their 2015 studio release. With the album and music video getting a significant positive response, the band continued to push for bigger and better shows. Forgetting Fame strives to live out their name through a passion, and commitment to their music and songwriting; a desire to bring audiences to experience their sound in authentic ways, enjoying the atmosphere that their music creates both through concerts and on album. A blend of different styles, Forgetting Fame’s music has been described as “punk/post hardcore", incorporating their various interests from hardcore to acoustic. All of the band members contribute to the writing, taking inspiration from life; meticulously making sure each lyric has significance in the song, and on the album. Now, in the 2016 year, with an abundance of shows performed, a tour under their belt, and many more tours/shows being booked, Forgetting Fame is continuing to build their audience on a national level. The band is relentlessly working to write new material, with a new single scheduled to drop early this summer, and their sophomore album which is expected to release later this year.
