ELBRÅNO

ELBRANO is a London-based three piece band that plays what can only be described as the unusual fusion of antagonistic styles - from 3 polar opposite musical backgrounds, ELBRANO experiments with the rhythmic aspects of Death & Black Metal, layered across Hard Rock and Blues from a range of paces to mould diverse and intense atmospheres. One day somwhere back in 2012, Marios Kalantzakis (Bass Guitar / Backing Vocals), Alex Akselberg (Lead Singer / Guitars) and Bruno Tolosa (Drums) got lost in a deep debate related to their different musical influences and that night the decision was made to play together and experiment.

After a 1st attempt in the rehearsal studio, the trio decided to take an ambitious step forward: to record their first song. All happened very quickly and after a couple of practice runs the song Paradox was recorded. The work was produced by Richard Pilkington and it was fully recorded at SohoSonic Studios in the West End in 2013. This is how ELBRANO was born.

Although Paradox can be seen as a song from their Jurassic period, it allowed the trio to begin to learn about each other's contrasting musical boundaries and influences. These new horizons were further explored and pushed over the course of the next 12 months as the band went back into confinement to work on what later became their first EP; named Under The Arches, released in April 2014.

The material Under the Arches was produced by ELBRANO and it was recorded at Rogue Studios in South East London by our good friend Alessio Garavello from the band ‘A New Tomorrow’. The songs have very distinct nuances, colours and vibes, and has been well received by the public.
After a series of gigs in the wider London area, the band has a busy schedule ahead of them with several gigs booked. The band will get back in the studio this summer to work on their first LP; to be released in 2016.

ELBRANO’s musical identity remains as an ever-changing organism that has a life and a personality on its own. Like all of us, there are times that ELBRANO is energetic and uplifting, and at times it can be dark and intense and the band would like to invite you to embark into an unpredictable musical journey that sets them apart.
