About Bobby Cool
Country singer songwriter, Bobby Cool (his real name), has opened for Brantley Gilbert, Pat Benatar, headlined for Budwieser, Toyota, Wild Turkey, and his critically acclaimed debut album, Light In The Dark, was nominated for independent country album of the year.
Now, amidst a pandemic, social injustice, racial tension, and political unrest, Cool is releasing a new album that he hopes is as relevant for our time as ever. “Some of these songs were written two or three years ago but, with everything going on, it’s like I wrote them yesterday.”
The album, titled ‘Family’, is produced by award winning fiddler Adam Haynes (The Grascals, Kelsie Ballerini, Dailey and Vincent) and is also a snapshot of Cool’s life as a family man.
“Some of the songs touch on things my wife and I have experienced raising our three young boys but ultimately they deal with the realities of everyday life...both good and bad.”
The album’s first single, ‘American Dream’, while not autobiographical, speaks to Cool’s relationship with his parents. ‘Waffle House’, the second single, is a song about hitting the big time but not forgetting where you come from. And ‘Crazy’, the latest release, is a tongue-in-cheek love song, depicting a wedding day scene where two family dynamics come together for the first time.
“In one way or another, I think each song comes back to being part of a family. Whether it’s your immediate family, your work family, or friends who just feel like family…we were made to be together. And when we’re together with the ones we love, life is just a little bit better.”
