About Imelda Marcos
Imelda Marcos is a Chicago-based avant noise rock band whose sonic palette is pointillistic, percussive and rhythmic. Imelda M have played with Ahleuchatistas, Secret Chiefs 3 and Horse Lords. The band has toured all over the U.S. including shows in Canada.
Their previous Albularyo EP (2022) was the follow-up to their third full-length Tatlo which NPR Music Viking's Choice described as, "... hypnotic, buzzy, technical, but oh-so-fun noise-rock." The title Albularyo is the Filipino word for witch doctor or folk healer.
Imelda Marcos released a second EP Agita that returns to and elevates the 'original flavor' classic power duo format in December 2023. Agita was included in Rolling Stone's Best Music of 2023: Staff Picks. The band formed in 2013 after meeting through a Craigslist ad.
