1 in Five

Formed by five friends in March 2013 1 in Five are a UK based independent Hard Rock Blues band. The band is notable both for writing politically motivated songs about perceived injustices in the world, and being big supporters of other unsigned and grassroots artists. Following the successful release of the 'Hold On EP' in 2014 that went on to be played on over 250 radio stations worldwide the band continued to build a fanbase, develop their sound, and gig across the UK. 1 in Five went on to be voted #3 in the Sunset Island Music Awards 'Top Unsigned Bands in the World' category. Described as "straight up rock n roll, with a melodic rhythm section, rippin' guitars, and powerful vocals" 2016's 'Evolve EP' continued the trend of receiving positive reviews and gaining worldwide radio play. Appearances at a number of high profile shows including Pheztival 2016, SMF showcase #1, and New Years Eve Eve (30/12) at Bar 42, lead track Salvation went on to be voted in to #1 on the Atom Collector Records all genre chart. 2017/18 sees the band working on their debut album and playing a number of fantastic venues including the historic George Tavern, The Dublin Castle, a bands and Burlesque night in their hometown of Brighton and appearances on the main stages at Sussex Music Festival and Off The Record Independent Music Festival.
