About Dj Fish
So it’s a new year now, 2012, let’s recap what DJ Fish has gotten up to in previous years... In 2011 he played to crowds of over 3000, played overseas in Mauritius, down south in NSW, become the resident DJ for the Beachfront Hotel’s sunset thursdays and Casuarina square Friday late night shopping. Played at Pulsation Underage (900+ youths), The Lost Arcs Sunday Industry Night, the odd set at Deck Bar’s Sunday Sesh, and he recently signed up with the booty bar u18s again. He supported Ian Carey, Justice Crew, Havana Brown, Peking Duk, DJ Tuini and many more! Well let's start from the beginning. DJ Fish, now 18, is a classically trained musician with over 13 years experience with brass instruments. This love of music changed when at age 13 he saw the god of house music ‘David Guetta' live in Mauritius. This experience changed his whole perspective of music and several months later, decided to start DJ’in with some friends. The house parties which he started at gave him the reputation of an innovative DJ who knew how to work the dance floor. In December 2008 he scored his first major gig, Nightcliff Middle School's year nine Formal. This event was a massive achievement for him, considering he'd been DJ’in for just a few months. In 2009 he went from cranking beats at house parties to school formals, then being back stage at Outdoors '09 and chatting with the likes of The Ashton Shuffle, Ben Jackson and Nik Fish. He organised and played at Outhouse Underage which pulled over 200 people. In 2010, DJ Fish played main stage at Darwin’s biggest music event, Bass in the Grass 2010 (over 8000 people) with the likes of Timmy Trumpet, Hilltop Hoods and Silverchair just to name a few. He cranked the biggest set at Pulsation Underage (Darwin’s biggest Underage, over 800 youths). He shook the ’Monkey Cage’ stage at ‘The Zoo 16+’. Featured on a TV advertisement for the ‘The Big Gig’ to wrap up National Youth Week 2010 as well as closing set after interstate rockers Black Market Rhythm Co., not to mention also becoming an official R.A.D.D. (Recording Artists, Actors and Athletes Against Drink Driving) artist. Oh and he was also on the cover of the April edition of ‘Off the Leash’ (15,000 distributed throughout the NT). And he wasn’t even 18 yet! So what does 2012 hold in store for DJ Fish?? Besides working on a few side projects to expand beyond the DJ Fish alias, He is planning to release a few remixes and mashups as well as finally spending some time in the studio and cranking out an original. There is also a few interstate gigs, new residencies and new high energy mashup sets in the works. As seen @ Discovery Darwin, Summer Session 2012, Paradise Music Festival, Deck Bar, Beachfront, Ducks Nuts, Bass in the Grass 2010, Pulsation Underage 2010-2012, Transfusion (NSW) and many more!!!
