About Forty Fathoms

To live in envy is to live a lie. The numerous and seemingly uncontrollable travails that put a young up and coming act in peril do nothing but breed apathy and discouragement. Choosing such a path will only lead to self destruction and loss of identity and passion. Forty Fathoms has decided to face this common pitfall head on. With complete and emotionally diverse lyrics, coupled with influences ranging from european metalcore to the soft emoting of early 2000's story-telling giants, Forty Fathoms personifies controlled chaos. Having already traversed the country, popping up at South By South So What last year, Unsilent Night the year prior and winning the coveted Battle of the Bands for Warped 2013, Forty Fathoms moved on to support The Air I Breathe on their epic farewell tour, providing the perfect support for a run hell bent on displaying said chaos. The Denver boys have supported countless national acts while at home while simultaneously selling out their hometown venue time and time again, showcasing their crowd slamming collection of songs known as “Live In Envy", a sentiment not lost on, but also not embraced by the five piece. Ever the collaborative group, vocalist Taylor MacNicholas takes primary lead on lyric duties, crafting inescapably brilliant and beautiful messages over Jeff Minor and Kyle Kaliszewski's crushing guitar work, Evan Stieduhar's humble basslines and drummer Ryan Hall's sturdy backbone. As of today, the future seems limitless for Forty Fathoms as they continue to tour the country, tearing apart growing stages, staying true to their roots, and encouraging their rapidly growing fanbase. Living in envy has never looked so good.
