Surrounded By Darkness

Surrounded By Darkness began in the summer of 2013 as a two-piece instrumental post-hardcore band, under the name "Screaming For Sanity". This project was a result of Isaac Stanton (drummer) and Tanner Dieppe (guitarist) meeting in marching band and discovering shared musical interests. We had a huge influence from "One Last Look", a post-hardcore band, after seeing them play live at a local venue. We changed our name to Surrounded by Darkness, and wrote about eight songs. On March 7th, 2014, we played our first show: our high school's Battle of the Bands. Later that night, we added Eric Cruz as our bassist. The following week, on March 10th, we were contacted by Sorren George, who was interested in being our singer. On March 14th, we held our first rehearsal with our four-person line-up, and knew at once that Sorren's energetic singing style completed our musical sound. We played our first show with our full line-up on March 22nd at the Summerville Skate Park. We played a few more shows and recorded a single at a studio, which drove the band forward. We continue playing shows and making music around the Summerville area. 4piece melodic punk band from Summerville,SC.
