Slate Nation
was born on 06 January in a small town called Thiet a sub county of Tonj State, South Sudan.
Slate is one of the most hardworking South Sudanese artist whose song 'Juba Juice' earned considerable airplay in many live event venues among South Sudanese Communities in South Sudan, East Africa, USA, Australia, Canada a few to mention. He is famously known for his other hits songs such as Nyanbim, Take Me Down, Good Girl, Binia Giefa Ft Pallaso of Uganda, Girls Dem Hotta, Piandu and many others.
Born Ngot Peter Mou Athuai, AKA Slate Nation musicial career began in 2007 as a choir member in some Missionary school called Don Bosco-Tonj. He later formed a group called T.E.C Hiroz together with the likes of Kaylow, Carlos, Dark Black, Extra Bill, Rover D, Dr.Kiss, the group made their first song "Come Back Home" that became a hit all over the streets. He later left the crew and fled to Uganda for better Music production where he focused so much on studies and did music part time.
He was inspired at a young age by the legendary Malook Beny Kuot, who was a great cultural musician that changed the face of South Sudan music through his emotional love and freedom songs during the civil war.
In April 2016 Slate Nation did his first International collabo with Ugandan Afro-Dancehall artist Pallaso on the song 'Binia Giefe' (Beautiful Girl). His musical style is a combination of Ugandan and South Sudan Folk Music, West Africa Afro, Zouk, Dancehall and Ragga.
His solo album NYANBIM was released 2016 and the album was sold out in the entire nation.
The artist has toured both locally and internationally many countries countries which include Australia, Kenya, Uganda and more.
He released his forth studio album "Y.I.I.T.H (Yin e Leec Techin Thou) a Dinka proverb which means,
"People will only appreciate and love you when you are dead and gone" The album is so far rated to be the most meangingful and lyrical Album in South Sudan.
The album is now made available in all social media outlets worldwide such as Itunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and other social media plateforms.
Piandu became the top hit single follow by other greaat songs like Nya Adai, Woung, Mading Bor, Domachin a few to mention.
Slate Nation is said to be the only South Sudanese Artist to have won so many Awards in different awarding companies in the last two years he rose to fame and he is the only Artist with the highest number of awards in the history of South Sudan music industry, making it 12 awards in just two years of his appearance.
He is the fans favorite and they nicknamed him Junubin Starboy after Nigerian Wizkid, he has held so many big concerts both locally and internationally and he have shared stage with so many International Acts such as Jose Chameleon, Pallaso, Ziza Bafana, and many others.
He is one of those few artists who do not drink and smoke, he loves to be simple and live an ordinary life just like any other person. His passion and love for music was always known by his parents, though they kept on trying to stop him, they couldn't make him stop until at certain point where they where convinced that he is surely destined to be a great artist. And today he's proven them right.
