Kalpana Patowary

Kalpana Patowary is synonymous with folk and playback music of Purvanchal and Uttar Purvanchal in India. Unusual in her musical approach Kalpana breaks the stereotypes to promote cultural and linguistic diversity of India working assiduously in 30 Indian dialects and languages of over 10000 songs. She is archiving and documenting some of the endangered indigenous Indian languages through her mellifluous renditions in audio visual forms. In the current era of globalisation Kalpana is making an earnest effort to revive, study, archive and reintroduce some extinct and intangible traditional and tribal folk music.
