CINTA

CINTA is a powerhouse of modern soul, channelling raw emotion and storytelling through her music. A diva, schooled in the blues, she leads her band with an intensity and authenticity that have become staples in Sydney's music scene. Formed in 2017, CINTA and her band embarked on a journey to explore her original songwriting, crafting a sound that blends classic soul with contemporary R&B, drawing listeners into an immersive experience. CINTA’s debut album, ‘Feel Good’, was released independently in 2021 during Covid lockdown. Written, arranged and produced by CINTA and her band, the tracks started to take form with a few sessions at 301 Studios with engineer Stefan Du Randt and continuing in CINTA’s bedroom studio in Sydenham affectionately known as Station House Studios. The record was mixed by Grammy nominated record producer and studio engineer Nick Herrera (Hiatus Kaiyote, 30/70) at ‘The Grove’ and mastered by Tim Paterson at Satori mastering (Sampa The Great, Horatio Luna). This cult classic, celebrated with a successful vinyl launch at Mary’s Underground and a sold-out first pressing, showcased the band’s commitment to high-quality, heartfelt composition.
CINTA's voice is the centrepiece—sultry, commanding, and evocative. Her music isn’t just about the rhythm and melody; it’s a journey into the human experience. Inspired by the writings of Lauryn, Aretha, Erykah and Sade to name a few, she seamlessly merges the old-school vibe of soul legends with a fresh, modern edge, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and groundbreaking. Whether in intimate venues or at major festivals, her presence on stage is undeniable, the band create a rich, sonic tapestry that allows CINTA's storytelling to shine. The interplay between the band and CINTA is a testament to their artistry, known for their emotional depth and vibrant energy, is evident in their live performances, including regular appearances at Strawberry Fields Festival (2022, 2023, and 2024), supporting sets at Enmore Theatre (Winston Surfshirt), and City Recital Hall (Obongjayar).
In 2024, CINTA is set to release her sophomore album, Worth Control. This record marks a significant evolution in her sound, building on the foundation laid by Feel Good while diving deeper into themes of love, betrayal, and self-awareness. The album promises to deliver a compelling mix of heart-melting and fire-fueling soul, with polished songwriting and arrangements that capture the essence of modern R&B. Songs on Worth Control range from the joyous, up-tempo celebration of love on "Loyalty" to the slow-burning fury of betrayal on "Worth," showcasing CINTA's ability to explore the full spectrum of human emotion. The record was engineered by Yianni Adams and CINTA and mixed and mastered by Nick Herrera, featuring stellar performances from the band as well as some of Sydney’s finest musicians.
