About Prelude to Paradise

Not many bands as young as Prelude To Paradise (P2P) are as focused on building lasting relationships with the people they come in contact with. It is, in fact, a rare and extremely important attribute to have in today’s social-networking drenched society. That is why the members of P2P make time to create moments and memories with the people they are graced to have around them. As the drummer Tra Neuman puts it, “Relationships that we build through events are the core focus of our music and [ultimately] our ministry. If we didn’t have any fans or supporters to turn to, then we would not exist. Our supporters know that they’re way more than just another email address or another friend added on a social networking site. They are [the key] to this. without them we would not be doing this.” On top of the band’s heart for people, the music and lyrics they write cut to the core of the human condition, which is displayed in their freshman album, Your Plans vs. Mine. “We wanted an album that would meet people where they are, in the midst of their struggles or triumphs, and breathe some fresh air into their lungs. We wanted it to be saturated with truth. And this is truth: that we’re all a broken people with a [seemingly incurable] sickness which is human nature. Then God comes to us and doesn’t offer theology, but offers himself as the cure. That is what we do this for.” says lead vocalist Rudy Neuman. Their music, whether it be worship songs at a church event or their original works, delivers. The future looks bright for Prelude To Paradise. However, their unique and polished sound came from humble beginnings. Over four years ago in the rural country town of Dayton, TX the vision for this five-piece music group began to form. Inspired only three years after his mother’s passing from cancer, vocalist and rhythm guitarist Rudy Neuman began writing songs and playing them in small local coffee shops. Nearly a year later, keyboardist Katie Nance, whom also endured her mother’s passing, joined the group and took the sound of the band even further. Around that same time, the band name, ‘Prelude To Paradise’ was formed because of a dream a member had experienced the night before. “I remember that the only visions we had as a band during those days was staying up late, playing at the local venue, Fuel, and getting kicked out of Denny’s for being to obnoxious!” recalls Katie “Thankfully God allowed our vision to [be molded] past that!” Soon it came time for Rudy’s cousin, Tra, whom recently moved from Whitney, TX, to fill in on drums late one night for a local show. “I’ve been filling in ever since” says Tra with a smile. As a couple of years passed, and the vision for the band started becoming clearer, the opportunity to record a professional album finally fell into the hands the band. By this time, the group had been able to experience traveling to various parts of the region to lead worship and play concerts, and they were fired up and ready for this new task. In front of them lay a tough road to get the album completed. With the guidance of God, the help of family, friends and supporters, the band completed recording on Your Plans vs. Mine over a grueling year later. Having gone through the fire and the push for professionalism and excellence, the band came out as the group seen today. Ready for the call to nations that God has placed on their lives, they are turning people’s ears and heads wherever they go. The relationships they build continue to be the grassroots stronghold that keeps the band going, and their hearts turned thankful to God. By God’s call and grace, the future is looking bright for Prelude To Paradise. Christian Rock from Houston. like us! follow us on twitter! www.preludetoparadise.net
