About Firestations
Together they make music spanning genres from shoegazey indie to synth pop and harmony-driven psychedelia. Their second album 'The Year Dot' was released in 2018 and was hailed by The List magazine for “pursuing ambitious social commentaries while playfully teasing its own sonic glitches”.
'Thick Terrain' is being released on Lost Map Records on limited-edition 12” vinyl and digital platforms, with accompanying zine, on July 14, 2023. A clear-eyed and bold statement, it deftly combines big ideas with pop sensibilities in a captivating way, making it the band’s most ambitious and accomplished work to date. It follows Firestations’ expansive and explorative 2021 EP trilogy 'Automatic Tendencies', which garnered extensive radio and press support, with Marc Riley (BBC 6 Music) hailing the track ‘Small Island’ as “a perfect pop song”.
The band is touring in support of the record with dates in York and London on 12th and 15th July, and more to be announced soon (including Manchester, Glasgow and Bristol).
