Burton Cummings

I have attended many Burton shows and this one was by far the best. Fantastic musicians graced the stage with him and I am so darn proud of him. He is gifted in so many ways. Burton worked hard and continues to work every day on his voice, and it shows. I feel we are kindred spirits in a way. We were born 4 days apart (I'm the older spirit). We met back when I was hanging out with the Pallbearers. Keep up the good work my friend. I will see and hear you again very soon. ♥ Dianne Folster Renick

Burton has lost weight since the last time I saw him and he looks younger. He is THE Canadian legend who has done so much for Canada. He's paved the way for so many after him. The new guitarists are truly talented. Burton never disappoints. This was the 5th time I saw him in concert. My whole family just LOVES him. Hope he continues to give us a good time. Great concert! I love the stories and memories that Burton shares. This is easily the 10th time I've seen him play live. I remember lining up for a chance to meet him and get his autograph at the Toronto Eaton Centre many years ago. A great mix of tunes! Burton still has so much energy and the boys in the band were fabulous too. At 77, he's still got it! "Doing pretty good for the shape he's in!" Thanks Burton, for a fantastic concert!

Great show. Was hoping to hear a couple of songs from his solo career e.g. Break It To Him Gently, Your Backyard, I Will Play a Rhapsody, Stand Tall, etc. He only played The Guess Who songs and a JJ Cale cover. Irrespective, it was a great show. Last saw him over 40 years ago and although is voice has lost some range, it is still classic Burton Cummings. Thanks for all the years of music you have given us.

I’ve always been a fan of the Guess Who and Burton Cummings IS the Guess Who. I’ve been waiting for him to come to NY/NJ area for a while and we are so glad we got the chance to see his show. He and his band were amazing. The crowd was so into it. It brought us back to the 70’s era. I hope he keeps doing shows so everyone gets the chance to enjoy his music.

Generally, it was an enjoyable show for me and my wife. Burton is fine entertainer and established good rapport with the mostly boomer audience.He still has the very recognizable Burton voice and phraseology but if you are expecting soaring renditions of his songs you will be disappointed....he is at best 50-60% of what you might hear on You Tube videos of vintage Burton.But to me that was good enough...I mean he's 77 and doesn't any lip synching and prerecorded music.His back-up band is very good.If you like his music go see him.

Jim Messing was great and the quality of the sound was great. The Guess Who sound was very disappointing. Whoever did the sound check setup missed it. I'm 66 with great hearing and have been to many concerts. The first half of the hard rock songs were difficult to pickup clear vocals. I was sitting a few rows behind the sound engineer(s). Halfway through he walked around and made changes that helped some. Several around me said something similar. Burton's voice has held up damn good, his playing was very good. The playlist had us singing along. My wife realized she knew more of their songs than she thought. She and I overall had a good time. My two cents....

We had a great time at the Florida Theater in Jacksonville Wednesday night. We were a bit disappointed that Burton didn't sing "Something Old, Something New" and "You Saved My Soul" from his movie "Melanie", but he sang all The Guess Who's greatest hits. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. We didn't get back home until almost 3am, but it was well-worth the drive. And, we watched "Melanie" again today. Mike Ridgdill Georgia

Overall the show was fine. At 77 years old, BC's voice is not what it was 55 years ago, and that's to be expected. But the back-up singing was muddled and at times way too soft allowing the instrumentation to drowned it out. Speaking of instruments, the rhythm guitar player had on-going issues with his foot pedals and could not be heard a few times. Also, the floor toms of the drum kit could not be heard on those classic drum rolls that are the signature of many Guess Who songs. BC's banter with the crowd was fun and he did tell a good joke.

This was the third time I saw him at the Grey Eagle . He always puts on a five star show. I appreciate his music and his stage presence. He is one of Canada’s icons . He will be recognized in history right up there with Gordon Lightfoot a definite legend. Here is his set list * Bus Rider

The show was great! Burton sounds amazing. The 1/2 hours "setup" between the opening act and Burton was painful. Surely the stage crew can do better. Parking for this venue is terrible and the traffic leading to the venue from Rte. 128/95 is horrendous. Plan alot of extra time to negotiate the traffic and seach for parking within a decent distance from the venue.

This was a FANtastic event!! Lynn Memorial Auditorium was very easy to get to and parking was a breeze! Very nice venue! Staff was great and very helpful, seating was terrific with comfortable seats. We thoroughly enjoyed the pre-show performers were outstanding! Burton Cummings continues to amaze me, I have been following him since high school over 50 years ago. He is "The Voice". A consumate performer with what I see as a heart of gold. So appreciative of his fans, he loves us as much as we love him!!! It was great to see him in person again after such a long time. I would love to go back to see the show again!

What a fabulous show! The last time I saw The Guess Who, I was 17. I am now 67. Button Cummings and his musicians put on a two hour show, full of Guess Who hits, a few of his new music. And a couple of covers of other artists. Great show from start to finish. I would go see him again anytime!

Great show! BC’s voice has aged, but not his joy for singing all the tunes us old hippies know & love so well! His backing band was excellent & very tight. All in all, glad I got to enjoy Burton Cummings while he’s still rockin’! Only reason for the <5 stars has nothing to do with the awesome show-4 peeps sitting behind us were talking loudly during the whole show!

The show was fabulous! Burton Cummings has written and played more chart toppers than imaginable for more than 50 years! Obviously, he doesn’t sing like he did in his 30’s but the emotion and the memories make up for that. I was very happy with his song selection as the highest number of songs were big hits from the Guess Who days and then from his solo career. I was hoping he wouldn’t spend too much time trying to hype up his upcoming new album but I was surprised that he never mentioned it at all. Overall, I’d gladly attend another Burton Cummings concert. This was the first time I’ve been to Knuckleheads and it is unlike anything else I’ve been to. The only real complaint is how difficult it is to get to. If you use GPS, you’ll get within a half block but there trains sitting stationary on the tracks and you can’t cross. We had to try four different routes before we were able to get to their parking lot. I might have missed it but I don’t recall getting information ahead of time that the bar is cash only. That would have been nice to know. Again, if there was another band that I wanted to see, I would gladly return to Knuckleheads.

As usual BC NEVER disappoints! It was amazing for a 75 year old to be rockin on stage like he does. He sang non stop for 2 hours! He is and always will be a force to be reckoned with and one of the best performers on Earth! I love seeing him in concert, this is 13th I think! 🤔 I’m in BC Heaven and hope I never come down! Best Canada Day ever!!!!

Spectacular! Got a front row seat and waited my whole life to hear Burton sing and WOW. I adored Burton's humour between songs. Being from "The Boot" myself, I enjoyed his amusing reference to it. The band was slick and polished and it was an incredible evening from start to finish. Burton, forget about Saskatoon - please run back to Medicine Hat for another concert soon!

First time seeing Burton in concert and first time patron at The Colosseum. Good experience on both counts. Had seen the current rendition of The Guess Who at a couple other venues and enjoyed those shows, but this was different, in a good way. Even though age has diminished Burton's vocal skills a bit, you just can't beat a performance by a guy that wrote the songs and had been there, done that in the 60's-70's. He interjected some storytelling between songs which helped lend context as to what inspired the lyrics and things going on with his band mates at that time. His conversational manner with the crowd and obvious humility reminded me a lot of going to a James Taylor concert. As for his current band, Burton's keyboard skills remain excellent, his guitarists do a great job of recreating The Guess Who sound. Percussion solid, but not overwhelming. Soundboard folks did a great job balancing all vocals with instruments and avoided blasting the doors off the place. As for the Colosseum, I thought it was a clean, well-managed operation. We sat in the upper level (mezzanine) and thought the sight lines were excellent with the help of the video screens on each side of the stage. Acoustics were also good despite being elevated and pretty far back from the stage. Seating was reasonably supportive with good leg room as well. Beer and wine are available at several bar dispensaries just outside the arena. Didn't see much food. We ate in the c****o area before the concert and recommend that strategy to others. Another recommendation is to get there early, if possible. Finding a space in the adjoining parking garage can take awhile, the elevators to the casinos can be congested, and it can take awhile to walk through all the other activity in the c****o in order to get to the Colosseum. At 45 minutes prior to this show, the line for security extended all the way back into the core of the c****o. Hence, get there early or consider getting an Express Entry pass (surcharge)

I always love attending Burton Cummings show, it was nice to see him with Randy Bachman. It was a great night, the crowd was good, the sound and lighting were good as well. I love his music and hope to attend more of his shows. I realized when I was there there were covered group seatings, will have to keep that in mind. The only thing disappointing is I hope they will be doing something to fix the stairs getting to the seating from the top, it was very dangerous taking the first step. I was also disappointed with not being able to purchase an alcoholic beverage from the top, after getting to the top I wasn’t about to walk back down to get a drink. I asked one of the workers if we could get a drink when we got to the top and he said yes, but it was only non alcoholic.

It was actually called the Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings Together Again Tour. It was beyond spectacular. For these 2 artists to be on stage in the unbelievable humidity we had in Toronto, I applaud them. Of course the voice range is not what it used to be, but they can both belt it out. Would love to see them again, but probably not this tour. Burton and Randy both have very interesting stories from their past & their lives. Glad to have seen them.
