So much talent and energy. What made the show even more amazing was the small crowd. The band adapted and made us all feel like family sitting around the living room.

About Ivan & Alyosha
Ivan & Alyosha, also known as I&A, is a folk-pop, indie, rock band from Seattle,
Washington formed in 2007 by Tim Wilson and Ryan Carbary. The band first sparked
attention with their 2013 album All The Times We Had, followed by 2015’s It’s All Just
Pretend, both released by Dualtone Records. Paste called their music “luscious,
enjoyable folk-pop” and NPR Music praised their “Beatles-esque pop harmonies and
sweet melodies,” while Rolling Stone raved about their “smooth, soaring guitar pop” and
American Songwriter said the band “achieve a polished west coast soul-folk sound that
draws on the poppier sensibilities of McCartney songwriting.” The band toured
extensively around those releases, supporting such acts as Brandi Carlile, Aimee Mann,
The Head & The Heart, Delta Spirit, NEEDTOBREATHE and more. Other early
highlights include features on NPR’s Tiny Desk series and All Songs Considered.
With over a decade of touring and recording under their belts, Ivan & Alyosha continue
to hone their creative voice, unafraid to let their sound evolve while staying true to their
folk-pop roots. The band released their most recent self-titled full length album in
October 2020 via Nettwerk Music Group at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The
Seattle Times called it “A mature, masterful work with sonic and thematic heft, and
intuitive production.” Also saying, “The band’s sound has flowered into its own unique,
folk-pop grandeur.”
The band recently released “Ivan & Alyosha, Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle
Symphony” in June 2022. The album was recorded in March of 2021 during a
live-streamed performance as part of The Symphony’s “Essential Series”. An
accompanying documentary film capturing the lead up to the show with the Symphony
will also be released this July, providing a behind the scenes look at the bands journey
through COVID, as well as the experience, unique process and powerful collaboration
with the Symphony.
I&A has also spent the better part of 2022 writing and recording what will be the band’s
fourth full-length album. Produced by Owen Lewis and recorded in Nashville, TN,
Nettwerk Music Group plans to release the album sometime in mid-2023. The
forthcoming release promises to be the bands most mature, significant and progressive
offering to date. Poppier elements abound in the arrangements, instrumentation and
songwriting, while maintaining their signature sound and feel with acoustic guitars, vocal
harmonies, earnest lyrics and heartfelt performances. The band continues to be a fan
and critic favorite in their native Seattle and beyond.
