The 5 AM is only around for less than 2 years and even without an album or single released, the band builts a consistent live reputation with a show in the VERSUZ Hasselt, hosting and co-headlining the main stage at the AFTRSUN Festival, a show at the main square of their hometown Aarschot and an outdoor show at minus 8 degrees Celsius which doesn't keep the audience from dancing and the band from playing for almost two hours (!). On July, 10th 2015 the band gains full media exposure with a stunt that captures everyones imagination... The 5 AM is litterally flying high with a gig over Aarschot skies in Belgium biggest hot air balloon! PRAGA KHAN joins the band and a midair musical collaboration is born. Hundreds of spectators gather together to witness the balloon taking off. An extended coverage is a reoccurring item in the national TV News and footage of the stunt is widely posted, shared and liked on social media. Early 2016, prior to the album release, The 5 AM is selected Featured Artist on the ReverbNation homepage and Selected Talent in the ReverbNation Discover App, propelling The 5 AM to the top of the rankings of ReverbNation.com with 8 million artists, labels and fans in 150 countries worldwide! In May 2016 The 5 AM hits the news again with the announcement that two songs of The 5 AM are in the soundtrack of the US film 'What Happened Last Night'. The film is directed by Candice T. Cain and starring Amber Rose, Alix Kermes (Gilmore Girls), Clayton Snyder (Lizzy McGuire), Shelley Regner (Perfect Pitch 1 & 2) & Jake Thomas (Lizzy McGuire). The 5 AM joins the actors and crew at the Filmfestival of Cannes for the screening of the film and plays an acoustic set. 'What Happened Last Night' won two awards at the Innovative Film Festival in Florida including Best Feature Film and is coming to over 200 theatres in the USA and Canada on November 4th 2016. A release date in Europe will be announced later. Their debut album ‘Free’ with live sessions recorded and mixed in the ACE Studio in Belgium, was released on May 28th, 2016 with a spectacular live show supported by visuals.
