About Nightmare Visions

So NIGHTMARE VISIONS (UK) return, yet unlike many of their
peers/contemporaries who have recently risen phoenix like from the ashes
or from "Forgotten sounds of the month" the Visions guys have never gone
away, always lurking in the shadows ready to pounce on the unsuspecting
metal fan, rehearsing hard , working on the power, tightness and
therefore, intensity of their performance and coming out into the light
every now and then to test themselves and their new material, putting a
smile on the face of genuine metalheads and scaring the posers and
wannabes. With a bloodline that that reaches back to their “Blasphemy”
demo I have observed the evolution of this combo, they have seen scenes
come and go, (corpse paint, burnt out churches, six inch nail arm bands,
other equally gay trends) but never felt the need to follow any of these
fads. Preferring instead to concentrate on the music and remaining true
to METAL.

Be warned!!!! this is a metal beast that has been sharpening its claws
and has strayed from the graveyard to lay down their most slaying tracks
to date. Stripped down to a 3 piece the power and aggression has not been
sacrificed in any department. In fact, much like a football team reduced
to ten men, the remaining nucleus, in the face of adversity, have bonded
even closer and have become a devastating (particularly live) and
ravenous trio, out for blood, bodies and souls for their legions of the
damned.

Far from being a speed fest (in search of the end of the song by the
quickest route) these guys aren’t afraid to venture into the almost "Prog
Death" of epic soundscapes favoured by Opeth and Amorphis - subtle guitar
leads and quieter and quieter passages combined with a fearsome
riff-o-rama and some of the sickest vocals since John Tardy first drew
breath. Recorded at Philia Studios, and with production coming from Pete
Brown (Anathema, Desecration, George Harrison etc), NIGHTMARE VISIONS are
one of the UK's finest/brightest hopes amongst the tombstones of extreme
music.

*Note
Nightmare Visions are no longer a 3 piece band and have now brought in another guitarist and now are a 4 piece band.
