About Rachel Farley

Rachel learned to play guitar at age 11 in her free time between school and musical theater rehearsals in downtown Atlanta. She booked her first gig six months later in a local Lawrenceville, GA coffee shop where she frequented for karaoke nights. “I fumbled my way through the eight songs I barely knew. I took a 15 minute break, and I played them all again…with, just barely, less fumbling. By that point all of my friends had already left and more than likely sworn off Rachel Farley shows for life. I don’t blame them. It was rough.” But sink or swim scenarios don’t scare Rachel away. She caught the proverbial “bug” and played 100 shows her first year. After a few months of playing cover songs, she realized she had something to say and began writing her own material. Rachel was suddenly not just a girl with a guitar who could sing, but an artist with a story to tell. At 13, Rachel met fellow Georgia native, Brantley Gilbert and set off on the road opening up shows all over the south east for sold out college bars. Two years later, Rachel signed her first record deal with Average Joe’s Entertainment and cut her first record with Michael Knox. This relationship with Knox led to her signing her first publishing deal with Peer Music the same year. Rachel joined Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party Tour in 2012 landing her a record deal with Red Bow Records, part of the Broken Bow Music Group. 2013 she released her first single, self-penned “Ain’t Easy” which became the most added song on both Billboard and Mediabase charts and a Top 40 hit. Since then, she has concentrated on her career in songwriting. Rachel had her first cut, “Crazy”, with Gretchen Wilson which was the first single off the Right On Time album, as well as two cuts with independent artist, Chelsea Bain. “The first time I heard, “Crazy” on the radio, I was in the backseat of a van headed to a show in California. I heard the first chord of the song and flew through the seats to turn the radio up. I was screaming, ‘THAT’S MY SONG, GUYS! GRETCHEN WILSON IS SINGING MY SONG!’ It’s a moment I will never forget and probably the true moment that I got addicted to the rush of being a songwriter.” “I spent all of my teen years on the road, and now I’m focused on planting my roots as a songwriter,” Farley says. With her strong melodic and lyrical roots, as well as, her country/rock influences, Farley has a long and bright songwriting future ahead of her. I write songs and play music and I love every minute of it!
