About A Sequence Of Ghosts

Celebrating their one year anniversary as a band only recently, A Sequence of Ghosts have come a long way in such a short time. Their self titled debut EP introduced us to the Kansas City boys last summer showcasing a band that had quickly pulled various influences together to give us a smattering of great things to come. The EP garnered high praise from the likes of Substream Music Press, Hopecore.com, HM Magazine and more but there was a feeling of foreshadowing, of greater things to come in the future as the band found their identity and further developed their sound through constant touring for the past year. ASOG has been fortunate enough to share the stage with giants such as Emery, Brian “Head” Welch and Aiden in addition to many bands that have broke over the past few years such as I, The Breather, To Speak Of Wolves, The Color Morale, A Bullet for Pretty Boy and more. If a young band wants to get out there and be noticed, then touring nonstop is your only option and ASOG knows that this fact is paramount to any others. It also doesn’t hurt that the guys have been drawing comparisons to the likes of Bring Me the Horizon, Oh Sleeper and Life in Your Way. The band’s tenacious work ethic coupled with brand new tunes coming May 3rd is a surefire concoction for future success. Their second release, entitled Hostage(s) is an amalgamation of the ASOG’s year since forming. Hostage(s) is polished but not pretentious, worshipful and ferocious. ASOG called on a few friends to help enhance the tracks by adding their beautifully placed vocals. Voices such as Poema’s Elle Puckett, A Bullet for Pretty Boy’s Danon Saylor and Jake Germany are lent to the EP which only serve to up the ante in terms of pure professionalism and creativity. The bands’ message of promoting self-worth and their love of God is something that stands out amongst the copycats in this genre. ASOG is genuine and it shows ten fold on this release.
