Oliviero

Oliviero is an indie band that makes harmony-laden and folk-inspired music with an infusion of lush pads and ambient washes. Compared to The National and Sigur Ros, the band combines sounds, moods and textures of sometimes supposedly opposed extremes to create a three-dimensional sound that can be touched as much as heard. In studio and live sets, one finds the classical sound of a bowed upright bass paired with the wonkyness of a vintage monophonic analog synth, or the bright and shimmering pings of a glockenspiel juxtaposed with the heavy pervasive drone of an analog bass synthesizer, or 3 and 4 part harmonies paired with the lush and dynamic drum heavy builds of ambient rock music.
