Melissa Manchester

50 years of making music with Melissa Manchester was phenomenal! I have been a fan of hers since the 1970s. This was my fourth time seeing her live in concert. Melissa was entertaining, not only musically but with her monologues. Incorporating background videos with her live performance was an added bonus. I would go see her again in concert in a heartbeat. Gracious, talented musician and composer who has been entertaining us for over 50 years. I first saw her in concert in the early 70s at Guzman Hall ( thanks to Melissa for reminding me of the location). Her songs have inspired me since I was a teenager. It was such a gift to be able to hear her in concert again.

My 13 year old granddaughter and I had much the same opinion. She shared her life experience through song. That was of interest to the older people. Still, there seemed to be a lack of connection with the audience. The highlight was “ You Should Hear How She Talks About You”. The audience came alive then.

A magical night!

I have seen Melissa live many times. She is amazing in concert- her voice has only gotten better over the years. She is so kind, has a great outgoing personality & always has an eclectic set list. She once dedicated my all time favorite song, “Home To Myself” to me because I’d been having some health challenges & it helped me get through it I believe Melissa is the gold standard. I’ve met her more than once & she makes you feel like family. I also feel like she is under appreciated & is one if the very best singer/ songwriters of all time. She had 2 songs nominated for Oscars the same year, has a Grammy & is in the songwriters hall of fame. A great concert, a great human & I can’t wait for the next concert and my Melissa hug! I attended the Fri Nov 3rd show of Funny Girl with my husband at the Peace Center in Greenville, SC. I’ve been a big fan of Melissa Manchester since 1976, and was looking forward to seeing her perform as Mrs Brice, Fanny’s Mother. We had great seats near the front. Unfortunately, Melissa Manchester did not perform that night. We had a separate insert inside our program saying Barbara Tirrell, a standby, had joined the show’s company. Ms Tirrell performed well, but she was not Melissa Manchester. I know there were many people in the house that night who were looking forward to seeing Melissa perform/sing. The Peace Center had advertised this show as having “Grammy Award Winning Melissa Manchester playing Mrs Brice, Fanny’s mother” at the very top of their blurb. Now, we come to find out that Melissa Manchester has left the Company of Funny Girl through Jan, 2024. Just want her to know her fans are VERY disappointed. The rest of the cast did a wonderful job, and Katerina McCrimmon was truly a star that shined brightly throughout the performance!

It was an absolutely wonderful evening last night to see the one-and-only, beautiful, and ever-so entertaining Melissa Manchester perform such beautiful music and hits! It was such an intimate and personal show. Highly recommend seeing Melissa in concert!

Melissa Manchester was worth the wait. 2023 is her 50th anniversary of show-biz. Truly the consummate professional. All the hits were sung plus so much more-a fabulous video show of so many of the folks that she had shared her fabulous voice during her career. She even announced that she would have time to smooze after the show in the lobby! I love the Riviera theatre and their popcorn is the best!

Melissa continues to be a class act. A wonderful performance of her many hits interwoven with some great stories. She is someone who loves what she does and gives her all to her fans. The meet and greets after the show are a highlight!

Wonderful, relaxing show and venue. Entertaining old hits and standards from a variety of albums.

Melissa still has it! Her voice is strong and her ability to communicate with the audience has never been better. Her story telling made the night extra special. It was a music appreciation class in the making. Thank you Melissa!

We enjoyed Melissa's great voice and every song was so beautifully done ,it seemed the night passed too quick.After the show she spent time with whomever came up to her. We always been a fan and will continue to be. Our advice to anyone,don't miss a performance by Melissa Manchester!
