Skynyrd is still kicking butt ... I hear the zero original members left crap and it doesn't hold water with me. The fact is instruments are unaware of who is playing them and what matters is the music being played the way it should and with respect to the fallen members and the current Skynyrd does that 💯 and that's why they still pack shows. I'll always see them no matter what and I appreciate them keeping the music alive 🤘🤘!!!

Well it was a cool summers day ideal for blackberries to start the affray. They tore up the stage with southern state rage and blew all our old timer cobwebs away. Then low and behold a story was told of past of present as one. Life was reborn no longer forlorn but a musical love from heaven above. So it began our hearts our souls a legendary sound, music filled the air and love was a bound. Past present future alive again freebirds a flying and will always remain. R I P our southern stars 🌟

Three times in my life I have had tears streaming down my face at concerts... the first time at my first Judas Priest concert - when they came on, the second time at my first AC⚡️DC concert - again when they came on, the third time yesterday at the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert - at the absolutely fantastic finish... which will stay in my head for a long time... Thanks for the amazing show!

About Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lynyrd Skynyrd (IPA: /ˌlɛnɚdˈskɪnɝd/) is an iconic U.S. southern rock band formed in 1964. The band reached prominence during the 1970's under the leadership of vocalist and primary songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, until he died, along with several other members of the band (Steve Gaines and Cassie Gaines and road manager Steve Kilpatrick), in a plane crash on Oct. 20th, 1977 in a Gillsburg, Mississippi swamp. At that time their current album "Street Survivors" showed them standing in flames. This album cover version was quickly pulled from store shelves and replaced with another non-descript cover in respect to the lost members of the band.
Lynyrd Skynyrd was one of the most critically acclaimed Southern Rock groups of the 1970s (although the term "Southern Rock" did not exist at the time they formed), and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006. Their distinctive triple-lead guitar sound made their songs "Free Bird" and "Sweet Home Alabama" American anthems and staples of FM radio.
Members inducted include singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarists Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Ed King, and Steve Gaines, bassist Leon Wilkeson, keyboard player Billy Powell, and drummers Bob Burns and Artimus Pyle.
Other members include/included Larry Jundstrom , Randall Hall,Byron Glover, Hughie Thomasson
A tribute band was formed in 1987 for a reunion tour with Johnny Van Zant, Ronnie's younger brother, at the helm, and continues to record music today.
Current members are Johnny Van Zant, Ean Evans, Rickey Medlocke, Michael Cartellone, Mark Matejka, and Billy Powell.
