Burlington, Canada based Billy J White enjoyed a rural childhood and a love of music from an early age. At his family gatherings the many generations performed on guitars, harmonicas and percussive instruments, inspiring Billy to join in. With musical influences ranging from Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Craig Morgan, and Tracy Byrd, Billy also resonates with the vocal prowess and extraordinary songwriting and piano perfection skills of Elton John. Asked, what comes first the melody or the lyrics, the scales tip toward the lyrics as “songs are always in my head.” His current EP, Country Drag Strip, produced by Steve Ashley (Heritage Studios, Burlington ON), consists of seven toe-tapping tracks, including “BBQ” and “Rebel Without A Cause”, both of which received widespread national radio play. While his fan base consistently grows, Billy has appeared on stages drawing hundreds and thousands. Having opened for The Stellas and Deric Ruttan, Billy stunned audiences with his deft guitar playing, velvety rich vocals and lyrics that had attendees bellowing for more.
