The Little Ships

What started as a weekly jam session in a rural studio in the English countryside back in February 2014 soon became a serious ocean spanning musical project. Armed with a number of instrumental demos, the fledgling band reached out across the Atlantic for a unique voice. As the project flourished, more songs quickly emerged and the group was officially named THE LITTLE SHIPS. TY WILLMAN is a vocalist of some repute. A Seattle resident who has been a mainstay of the music scene for decades, forming local legends Green Apple Quickstep, contributing to Stone Gossard’s (Pearl Jam) debut solo album and more recently recorded with Novatone and Nine50Nine. KATHY MOORE is a multi-instrumentalist lending her unique guitar skills to The Little Ships. So prolific is Kathy that you’ll more than likely catch her playing somewhere in Seattle on any night of the week. The glue that binds these transatlantic elements together is bassist MIKE McNAMARA who has a long held connection with Seattle. He has tour managed and designed artwork/merchandise for local acts and in 2013 co-tour managed Brad’s debut European tour. Mike is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed and recorded art-rock from New York through to traditional English folk music. Honorary Captain of The Little Ships is JENNY BENDEL; another Seattleite with deep ties in the local and international music communities. Jenny has worked with such artists as Radiohead, Supergrass, the Presidents of the United States of America, Ice-T, Guns n' Roses, AC/DC, and countless others.
