About q.age

Q.AGE - A Rock Liberation Q.AGE started as Quaad H. in the beginning of 1999 by Cosmin Marica and supported by Christopher Payne. A few months later Oliver Schwarzinger, Alex Weidner and Christof Spath joined Quaad H. On a shoestring the first songs were recorded and produced. Private radio station "Radio Gong" encouraged Quaad H. to write a song for their theme "Sail 2000". This was the beginning of the tune "Waves" which was a big starting shot for the band. The editor-in-chief, Bertel Bühring claimed that it was the first time that Radio Gong, being one of the most popular German private radio stations, played a home recording production in their hit rotation. The song climbed up to position 3 of Radio Gong charts, right behind Reamon's "Supergirl". The demand for "Waves" was incredibly high. Because Quaad H. had no label deal at that time, they approached the record companies. Through the ongoing rejection letters, the band wondered if the A&R managers ever listened to the material and tried to call attention to themselves with a trick. On their demo CDs, no music was placed. Only a voice was there telling the record executives to call and ask for the CD personally. Instead of calls, they got more standard rejection letters with phrases like "...we listened to the music carefully..." and "...it doesn't fit in our concept at the moment". Quaad H. didn't let this go by, and took this to German TV station SAT.1. who produced an exclusive report on their show BLITZ and got them a lot of publicity. After SAT.1, the "Bayerische Fernsehen" , major record labels, and other interested parties called. Negotiations began. The band went into studio to produce their first album. At the end of 2001, Oliver Schwarzinger left the band not being comfortable with the direction the music was going in. As a result , the album wasn't finished and other members left the band. Cosmin Marica and Chris Payne put their resources together to release their first unofficial album "Win and Run". Success remained modest. When Chris Payne was courted by another band in 2003, Adam Kesselhaut took his place. Between 2004 and 2008, Adam and Cosmin concentrated on songwriting and production. The band name changed to Q.AGE and their own record label "TT7 Records" was founded. Some songs won awards such as the Mainpop Akademie 2004 ("Burning Love") and the International Songwriting Competition 2005 ("Win and Run"). The band placed songs with Konami Games in Tokio as well. Their first rock musical "Dies A Dream Of You" was a nominated finalist 2007 for the Richard Rogers Awards in New York City, the most prestigious awards for new musicals. As front woman and diva, Senta Studer, came on board in 2007, she was a very powerful impulse for live shows. The band prepared their first official concept album, released by their own label in 2010 in cooperation with Bellaphon Records and then manager Bernd Korz. The album enjoyed extraordinarily good reviews from the press and industry trade news. With new management, new structures in place and a new band constellation, Q.AGE was ready to ignite further hearts. This manager and booking agent, whose name the band doesn't want to mention, took notice of the band. With substantial investment, Q.AGE, together with Mike Tarsia in the USA produced another album poised to establish Q.AGE for good. Expensive videos with a lavish marketing campaign was to be launched. Shortly before release, the manger decided to continue only with the singer, Senta Studer, taking the band apart again. Adam moved to Berlin and Cosmin was left alone with Q.AGE. Again confronted with a new "beginning" he decided to gather all his experience in four concept albums representing the four seasons of the year bringing in Andreas Kümmert and Andreas Hofmann for the second official album "Stop The Clocks". As well as the first album "Songs for Your Lonenly Island," it is a part of the "Success Story"; a true story about the life of a present day musician with the statement: "Believe until you're dirt, like you've never been hurt." Q.AGE 2013 are: Andreas Kümmert, Andreas Hofmann and Cosmin Marica We are a project gathering musicians like a family, creating the art of music in so many expressions. This is the 2. Era of Q.AGE - "A Rock Liberation.
