About KellSa Music

The genre-bending Brazilian ska-reggae, pop rock world artist, “Kellsa” was born into a musically gifted family and joined her first band, with a tenacious drive, at the young age of fourteen. Singing and songwriting has since taken her across the world, with musical collaborations and major music festivals. Her passion, motivation and pursuit of becoming a pop rock, reggae sensation is at the forefront of her dreams and not far from her soon-to-be reality. In 2007, Kellsa forwarded her some tracks to some contacts in Jamaica and was soon invited to travel to Kingston, with a handful of locally renowned reggae producers, to work on her first professional EP. Once there, she was soon invited to participate in the Eagle Eye Riddim Medley, featuring prominent artists, Elephant Man and Capleton, which was followed by her first solo music video for her single, "If You Wanna." The video debuted at # 1 in Kingston on RETV; a popular television station, holding its position for three consecutive weeks. Her Latina background had been well received by the Jamaican reggae and reggae dancehall scene. Late in 2008, Kellsa felt it was best to create a more international fan base and soon moved to London, U.K. to work on her first solo album “Fortaleza;” which was named after her birth city. She toured throughout the U.K. and beyond, performing at prominent live venues throughout London and Barcelona, as well as Sweden. After the 2010 solo album release in Brazil, Donaleda; one of the most largest, most renowned reggae bands from Northeast Brazil asked Kellsa to join them as their lead vocalist. Their most notable performance was in 2014, for a crowd of more than 30,000 festival fans at the FIFA Fan Fest. The Brazilian artist had a broader aspiration and decided to take a leap of faith, making a permanent move to Los Angeles, California to further pursue her passion in the states. Soon after arriving, she decided to dive into the local scene and joined The Bredren; a local Reggae Rock band out of Orange County for a short time. The band performed throughout Southern California and opened for Starpool at the House of Blues in Anaheim. In late 2015, Kellsa realized it was time to take her career to new heights as a solo artist and began working with Lion Riddim, to produce her second album, self-titled, "Kellsa On Fyah.” In February 2016, she released a single off of the album, “Shots of Tequila.” The upcoming album will be a compilation of genre-blurring sounds of reggae, pop, ska, rock and other worldly influences, which give “Kellsa” her signature sound and standout unique flair. Kellsa’s voice has been compared to a Gwen Stefani-type of pop-rock sound, dabbled with her signature ska-reggae flair. Her sharp, smooth vocals, diverse range and catchy lyrics, coupled with her vintage good looks and impressive stage deliverance, is sure to catch the attention of fans and industry folks alike. After nearly a decade in Brazil, Jamaica and the U.K., the thirty-two year old vocalist is proving to become the next standout artist here in the states.
