Hack. Garage punk on crack. They have some seriously killer beats, unreal tunes and break-your-back dance moves. Be sure to get up front and center for this group, their energy is crazy infectious; spreading like a plague through the crowd- affecting those closest the most, the main symptom being the inability to remember how to co-ordinate your limbs as your dance. So run, crawl, jump- do what ever you have to do, just get up close! Well deserving of their place in the finals, some of the coolest guys I’ve met; with a wicked sound and great attitude. Emergenza Band Comp review by Jess Saxton, Non Street Press Sept 2010 Hack is a five piece Alternative rock outfit from The Brisbane/Ipswich area of Queensland. They are continual crowd pleasers who can always be relied on to ignite audiences with their passion and high-octane performances. Influenced by bands such as Poison the Well, Alexisonfire and Gallows, Hack is a raw blend of indie and hardcore with touches of dance, metal and stoner rock. Balancing intricate guitar riffs and catchy vocal patterns with heavy breakdowns and fast-passed drum beats, no one does it like Hack. Band members Chevy Wilson (vocals), Dave Porter (bass), Simon Nelson (guitar), Jayden Beale (guitar) and Kyle Brown (drums) live to rock hard, party hard and perform their hearts out. They bring a level of energy to every show that leaves a lasting impression on all who see them. Hack have released one EP and have been welcomed at Brisbane’s top spots for hard rock bands, including The Step Inn, The Jubilee, Hi Fi and the X&Y Bar. They were a much appreciated addition of Trash Fest and have played several shows throughout the Ipswich area. Pumping out tunes and pumping up crowds.
