“Refreshingly positive and life-affirming” (VICE); a “tour de force” (Mass Appeal); “wild and catchy” (Brooklyn Magazine); “exceedingly unique” (Wild Honey Pie); “fresh and inventive” (All About Jazz); “levitating on a bouncy, cloud of air” (Impose Magazine). Formed in December 2009 by Miles Francis, EMEFE quickly established itself as one of the most exciting live bands to come out of NYC, with members that collaborated with Antibalas, The Roots, Sharon Jones, Arcade Fire, Dirty Projectors, Tuneyards, Nile Rodgers and many more. After countless shows and 7 studio releases (including 2015’s EMEFE and 2012’s Good Future), their 2016 release Live at Bryant Park, documented their powerful final show as a band in August 2016 before taking time off to explore other projects. Now, in 2023, EMEFE returns with a special limited edition vinyl pressing of their 2012 classic Good Future and a much anticipated return to the stage, signaling the dawn of a new era of EMEFE.
