Will Hoge

We have seen Will perform solo and with a band on many occasions across the country (we’ve lost count on how many). This was THE best performance ever! The sound was awesome. The band was tight…really tight! Those of you that didn’t make it to this show - well - you really missed something! Thanks Will , truly awesome show.

Best show I have seen in a long time. Will Hoge and his band were AWESOME. His stage presences and crowd interaction was beautiful. One of the most underrated singer-songwriters of our time. Some day I hope he gets hos dues. High Marks for High Noon Saloon as well. The staff was wonderful and the song was great, crisp and very clear. I was a little disappointed in the crowd size but, as Will joked, it was a Monday night. I guess a plus for us as we stood 10 yards and dead center to Mr. Hoge. PS. Great eating place connected to HNS, The Brass Ring. Excellent food and great bartenders. Will sat at the bar, 10 feet from us and was too star struck to get a picture. Next time. I will see Will as often as I can. Great time. Thanks Mr. Hoge. Keep up the great work. Can't wait to hear the new album.

There’s not one thing that could’ve made this show better. Scott Terry of Red Wanting Blue opened for Will. Maybe they could’ve played a couple songs together. Will Hoge brought amazing energy and showmanship to the stage. He engaged the whole audience. It was crazy to have that much fun on a Monday night. The sound was excellent…perfect in every way. We danced and sang along, we laughed and felt that collective feeling of belonging and having our souls quenched again. Will Hoge, I will see you whenever I’m able. Thank you for the music!

Will has been and will continue to be one of the best songwriters that we have in the US. Couple that with his “a friend to have a beer with” persona and you’re in for a night of fun and music that leave you anxious for his next visit to the area. Add to that the WCL experience and you’re set

This is probably the best Will Hoge I have attended. He is one of our favorites and always puts on a good show but this one was really special. Solo show mixing in new songs with older favorites. Vocals and multiple instrument playing were great. If you have a chance to see this tour you won’t be disappointed.

Hoge was great. He is always great. A good musician with a solid voice and great, GREAT songs. Some timeless, some topical, some commentary, but always feels from the heart. I saw him late last year with William Elliot Whitmore opening and I think Will liked the kick drum. He uses it nicely but sparingly. I need to see him with a band again. Some of the songs are too angry to be conveyed with an acoustic guitar. I mean, I guess Woody Gurthrie did it, so what do I know. I just miss the Drive By Truckers like guitar attack in "Still a Southern Man". The venue is nice. It is more a listening room than a concert venue. The seating for 8 at table is a little tight and leads to a lot of spilling, a lot of apologizing for movement and not enough room in the aisles. Still, it is a nice place to take my wife to show whew I know she can sit down. Hoge is a must see act, if you love brilliant songwriting and he has a nice way with the crowd.

If you are in Des Moines vinyl cup is a most go venue Intimate setting to hear your favorites and get to meet them after. Will hoge is crazy talented , an epic storyteller. You must go see him

Simply a great show. Hoge is at the top of his game. I think I have seen him 5 times, as recently as late last year in Memphis but the new album and his confidence with the great material made it a fabulous show. He didn’t even play my favorite songs, (John Prine’s Cadillac, and Still a Southern Man) and I still could not have been happier. Even the river runs out of this town. The venue is weird, too nice and absolutely fucking fabulous to watch an intimate show at. Feinsteins. Better than any Cite Winery Show. Catch him on this tour!

This is my second time seeing Will in concert even though I’ve been a fan for fifteen years. This was my first time at the venue at Feinstein’s, but we absolutely loved it. We’d love to go back again and I’d love to see Will perform again too.

Will was great, but a pity he was on his own without a band. He needed to be the main act with a band and not a support act of a band/musicians that were all right but a dime a dozen. Will, will you please return with your band?

First time at The Triple Door, great venue, food was excellent, but the service was a bit slow. My friend Hayley and I had never heard of the opening act but enjoyed him. Hayley had never heard of Will Hoge, but is now a big fan. I have loved Will's music for a number of years and got to see him when he was in Seattle earlier this year. He performs with passion for his music and is a phenomenal musician. And he takes time to greet and speak with anyone who wants to talk to him. I can't wait for the next opportunity to see him again! I’ve been a fan of Will Hoge since 2009. This was my first seeing him perform in person and he exceeded all my expectations. He’s such a talented singer and songwriter. This was also my first time seeing a performance at The Acorn Theatre, and everyone was very friendly and the venue was very intimate.

Another great show put on by Will Hoge at a great venue I’ve never been at. I love the crowd work and it was a great selection of songs! I’ll definitely be back to the venue as well. Great sound!

Wasn’t sure what to expect at this small intimate venue. I had never seen Will live either but been a fan for a while. Sound system was perfect! You could hear his great voice perfectly and the harmonies. He told great stories and was very personable. More importantly - why isn’t this man more famous??? He is an amazing song writer and lyricist. Perfect combination of rocker and balladeer. Go see this man if you get a chance.

Amazing show! Everytime I move to a new city, Will is one of the first musicians to gig in it. I don't know how, but he has been my ambassador of music from Nashville to Orlando then Austin and now NYC. His music is the soundtrack of new adventures.

Very cool intimate setting. Hoge and Kellogg would pick song themes form hat and alternated songs. Not sure how random it really was like Elvis Costello song wheel. The stories and bannter between songs was the best. Stories about wild thing, Kris Kristerson , dildos, smoking pot premarital sex, Faith and family. Will comments Sure the season ticket holders are thinking who is this guy. Only problem was didn't get to hear any of his American protest songs. Thoughts and prayers, Travon Martin etc.

This is the third time I have seen Will Hoge, the previous occasions were at the Thekla. Each time he has been fantastic, he puts everything into the performance and has become my favorite live performer. This was almost a 5 star review but he wasn't as chatty as he normally is and didn't seem happy when he first took to the stage. But the songs were performed brilliantly and the occasional singing off mic was a highlight.

Will Hoge put on an awesome show! He has such a good, unique voice as well as being a great musician and song writer. I am shocked he hasn't become a big star. He's had a nice career as a grinder but he has the talent that is deserving of so much more.

Music was great. Quite a few people were not there for the music so were most annoying with their loud conversation during the music. Assorted food venues were very good. Met the daughter of the man who started Rock the Ranch. She informed us of the history of the festival. Will Hoge was our highlight. Second time seeing him. First was on Cayamo.

The very intimate setting @ Huize 23 was just excellent for Will Hoge on his own, just his guitar and microphone, a real treat. Will Hoge is a true professional and his songs just great listening to, with an audience of perhaps 75-80 people he just had all in his hand (except the two noisy Spanish women who chatted throughout the concert, initially setting off with the question who is he? The answer from the male companion: an American)... If I come across Will Hoge again, I'll go listen to him!
