Thomas Youngblood (Official)

Thomas Youngblood is the guitarist, founding member and one of the main creative forces behind the progressive/symphonic band Kamelot, he founded Kamelot in 1994. Besides guitar, Thomas likes playing drums and sometimes composes on keyboards. He's also the co-founder and director of Kamelot's own record label, Kamelot Media Group (KMG Recordings), launched on July 2010 with distribution through E1. Originally from Richmond, Virginia Thomas moved to Tampa Florida after losing his father at the age of 12. “After my Dad passed I moved in with my Aunt in Tampa. It was a culture shock coming from Virginia to Florida, I became a bit of a loner. My cousin ran a local music store there in Tampa and I found salvation with music and started taking lessons on guitar.” Thomas started on the guitar at 15, taking lessons for one year from a Greek classical player who taught the finger-picking technique. He decided to make his own music and started playing with some friends from the neighborhood, later meeting drummer Richard Warner, with whom he shared musical tastes. While building his band and his own songwriting skills, Thomas worked in product management and operations for apparel companies like Vanity Fair http://www.vfc.com and Kappa www.kappa.com . Working in the business world taught Thomas the necessary skills to deal with touring, record companies and also contracts. He remains a consultant for the industry and is the main force behind the apparel line for Kamelot. Thomas Youngblood has co-wrtten and released 11 full albums with Kamelot and appeared as special guest artist on several more. He has toured nearly every continent over the past 12 years and continues to grow with his band and his unique style of playing.
