Death From Above 1979

I remember seeing this band open for QOTSA and NIN nearly twenty years ago at MSG. Been a fan since I was in high school when I got sucked into the You’re A Woman.. frenzy. Seen them 4 times throughout the years, and DFA always KILLS it. They’re loud, they’re noisy, they’re abrasive, they will literally melt your face off. But damn they put on one hell of a show. The sound created by just these two dudes is nothing short of amazing. The Heights Theatre is an awesome venue - an old theatre stuck in the heart of downtown Houston that’s been there since the 1920’s. And DFA strolled in and just burnt the place to the ground. They interact with the crowd, they’re funny, down to earth and it was a small, intimate communion that was extraordinarily beautiful. I plan to see them again as much as I can for as long as they keep going, and I highly recommend you do the same.

They were awesome! First time seeing them and had no idea it was only bassist and drummer. They crushed it and the singers voice is incredible/sounds just like the album.

been waiting since sept 2021 to see them since the garden grove show got cancelled. it was so worth the wait <3 and they played my fav song

Great show by Death From Above as always. I’m still always amazed at how much sound only two people can make.

This was my favorite performance from them. I’ve seen them 3 times before but they seemed well rested and full of energy. Great crowd play and selection of tunes. Great show

Fucking AMAZING SHOW Obgms killed it, had us moshing harder than we had in us, perfect opening for DfA1979. Then Death from Above came on, and they just rocked the fucking house till we melted. Played 3 encode songs, great show. Best of '22

Deap Vally was hot, hot, hot and tons of fun. Death From Above was mind blowing. BRMC suffered from a bad mix and poorly conceived lighting. I got a head ache from squinting. They played really well, though.

Light turnout for them due to early (19:00!) show start. They put on a good show for the small, but appreciative, crowd. Sound was pretty good, maybe a tad high on the kick bass, but clear and hard driving. I would love to see them in a smaller venue, where a proper level of hysteria could be generated.

excellent musicians, excellent show, but they could use what almost every band could use a little more of, crowd hyping/engagement.

the headliners were amazing the openers were ok never been to that venue so it was a nice change and the sound quality was ok

Really nice venue. Easy to move around the room. They sounded good. Those two guys really fill the room up with a wall of sound. They played everything I was hoping to hear and then some . I'm so glad I got to hear them play live.

The show was great the merch was rude. Also got kicked out of Brooklyn bowl for no reason was mistaken for somebody else. Literally what a fucken joke of a so called security staff.. I'll never return there ever again.
