Dion Roy

Dion Roy is an internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and performing artist, whose songs have been heavily featured in TV & Film and albums have ranked in the Top 10 on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts. Born in South Africa, and now a New Yorker, Dion is known for his knack for writing an unforgettable pop/rock hook. Up until now, Dion’s releases have come under his solo project, including “The Nearest Light” in 2011—a 4-song EP that was mixed by Scott Reibling, known for his work with Weezer and Cobra Starship. Later that year, Dion released another EP entitled “Welcome Home,” on which he worked closely with Steven Miller (Christina Perri, David Cook, Avril Lavinge, Demi Lavto, Tristan Prettyman, and Colbie Callait). On his latest full-length album, Into The Day (2012), he collaborated with Steven Miller again, and David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Daughtry, Evanescence, Javier Colon). This was Dion’s most personal album to date, and includes the single “Daughter,” which has gone viral on YouTube with 100,000+ views. As a solo performer, Dion has toured the country, logging over 100 dates with many high-profile acts including: Howie Day, Eve 6, Ryan Cabrera, The Donnas, Bleu, and Ben Kweller, just to name a few, and completed an international tour in 2012 where he covered much of the U.K. and Europe including sold out shows in Paris and London, touring with One Tree Hill’s Tyler Hilton. His songs have been licensed for use in major network TV & Film including high profile placements on MTV, E!, Oxygen, TNT and Comedy Central, and Dion has also written several Toplines and songs for many other artists. In 2013, Dion shifted his focus to a new band project, entitled “Fire and the Romance,” which features an alternative pop/rock sound. Influenced by multiple genres, F&TR is a modern take on a traditional band sound, using the global experiences of a diverse group of songwriters, producers and musicians. The debut EP “Adaptations” was written in the backstages of France, the hills of Eagle Rock, California and amidst the factories of Queens, New York.
