About Bare Feet

Bare Feet is a band of 4 musicians from the Central Coast of California. The band was formed in 2006, when the group of childhood friends decided to take their musical passion to another level. Members of the band are Jacob Rocha (vocals/strings), Justin Davidson (vocals, strings), Leif Garrovillas (vocals, strings), and Ryan Davidson (drums). Some say that all music sounds the same in this day and age. New music comes, old music stays, and Bare Feet takes their influences to a level that defies musical contraption. After growing up in the small town of Orcutt, CA, the boys meshed their ideas to blend up a sound that resembles rock, reggae, hip-hop, blues, funk and jazz. Rocha says their name speaks for the band and adds that their stripped down sound has “no shoes and no socks.” Now based out of San Luis Obispo, the band has expanded their horizons by traveling and performing all over California. Bare Feet has appeared at House of Blues in Los Angeles & Anaheim, Soma in San Diego, SLO Brew, Velvet Jones & Sandbar in Santa Barbara, Grant & Green in San Francisco, and even the California Roots Festival in Monterey, CA. The band's first studio EP was recorded in San Luis Obispo with sound engineer Kip Stork (Avalon Studios, SLO Brew, Victor Wooten). The self-titled EP contains compositions written from the bands early days to the later years. "We wanted to expose the growth of our band, and have high-quality recordings of the songs our friends and fans love" Garrovillas adds. Bare Feet's EP contains a wide variety of songs. It starts with the rock-heavy track, "Destination Paradise" which follows up with reggae influenced songs, "Revolutionaries" and "Face the Facts". The last 2 songs "22 Strong" and "Take You Away" resemble a rock/reggae feel followed by hip-hop, but the two compliment each other despite their constructing categories. "Revolutionaries" was definitely the song that stirred the most buzz. It was aired on the band's favorite local radio station New Rock 107.3 (along with their cover of Snoop Dogg's 'Ain't No Fun'), and was featured in their first music video. Bare Feet's 2nd studio work is set to drop in 2013. With a fresh mindset on their musical direction, the band's new material is something they're anxious to share. 2013 marks a year with great opportunities for the young, but experienced group.
