Flavio Lira

Flavio Lira is a Brazilian musician, producer and music researcher, based in New York City.

Lira is a highly sought-after bass player for sessions and live shows. His musicality and eager-learning personality have made him standout while performing with groups of various genres and styles, ranging from Popular Samba to Classical Chamber Music.

Born in Brazil, Flavio established himself as a Brazilian Jazz Bassist early in his life and worked with world renowned and Grammy Award winning artists. In 2013 he took a step towards broadening his horizons in music by moving to the U.S. In New York, Lira has been able to fully employ his versatility as a musician while collaborating with different artists, and performing in prestigious venues such as Birdland and Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Flavio is now releasing a new album: “Coffee Gold Sugar Cane”, a rhythmic fusion of Brazilian grooves, Cuban clave, Colombian folkloric, over jazzy chords and along other Latin influences. CGSC is signed by independent label Interrobang Records.
