About The Hideaways
The Hideaways' sound is a combination of raging guitars and driving rhythms alongside dark electronic and subtle trip-hop influences.
2019 has seen the Bristol four-piece collaborate with producer Matt Glasbey (Editors, Marmozets) on their most recent releases 'Stop Disappearing' and 'Dinner With Scarecrows' recorded at Monnow Valley Studios.
'Stop Disappearing' was released on all digital platforms in the summer of 2019 with the accompanying video following in October. Starting out as a straight-ahead alternative rock song, the song mutates and grows in more experimental directions as it progresses.
“Stop Disappearing never really made sense as standard verse-chorus type of song” says frontman Danny Pugh. “When I first wrote it, it was a pretty straight indie tune but as we started playing it together as a band it just felt right to keep getting heavier and scattier the longer it went. That’s how we ended up with an outro that sounds like Joy Division in a K-hole.”
The Hideaways have also continued to build their reputation as a ferocious live act, sharing stages around the UK with such up and coming bands as BERRIES and Football FC alongside supporting established names like Shaun Ryder and Little Comets. 2020 will see more releases supported by more touring including their first US shows at New Colossus Showcase Festival, New York in March.
