About Diva (USA)

Music has been an integral part of Diva's life since the day she was born. First provided by her parents, her musical education spanned from church choir to heavy metal, with a nod to the classical Oriental music of her heritage. When she was 7, shortly after moving back to Lebanon from the US, she started taking classical piano lessons. She was writing by the age of 14, having already performed on various platforms and recorded a national Lebanese commercial.

At 16, she started experimenting with bands. Oldies, disco, dance, pop, soft jazz, blues, heavy metal and all genres of rock, in plugged and acoustic settings, at pubs, weddings, corporate events, concert halls, university festivals, on national television, intimate and large-scale concerts with thousands of people in attendance. In 2008, she obtained her BS in General Biology Cum Laude from Notre Dame University, and her piano certification from the Lebanese National Conservatory. She continued to perform, but took a long break
from the piano, preferring to work with bands instead. 2011 saw her receive her MS from the American University of Beirut and make plans for her doctoral studies in medical science. For this purpose, late in
2012, she moved to Montreal, Canada.

Always striving to hone her craft and not just her academic skills, she successfully integrated the live music scene. She played at local bars; participated in the Festival International de Blues de Tremblant (2014);
performed at the prestigious Festival International de Jazz de Montreal as part of Franky Selector's Jazz fusion show (2015); wrote and recorded with him and other local artists. All this time, she continued
to travel back home and perform there.

2014 marked her reunion with the piano, as that was when she began to build her solo live repertoire, and compose her own material to accompany the writings she had accumulated over time. This, a series of personal events, and perhaps the right twist of fate led to her decision to put her scientific career on hold in pursuit of a higher passion. Thus, in April 2015, she moved back to the US to fully dedicate herself to her music.

She settled in Los Angeles, CA, and immediately set to work, performing at bars and venues across Hollywood and greater LA, recording and writing for herself and others, and learning the business from the ground up. At this point, her vision for her debut album began to take shape. In February 2017, she released her first single, a
soulful acoustic piano ballad that showcases a more personal aspect of her writing. She continued to write as the year went on.

In October 2017, she moved once again, this time back to Lebanon, to continue working on her album. She is currently recording, blending all her influences with a large dose of authenticity to reflect her experiences and lay tracks to her words.
