About Brenda Dirk

“It’s easy to find your dream - But it takes hard work to reach for it” - Brenda Dirk 2018

Brenda Dirk is about finding a path that is true to her heart. Her songwriting is a display of the world around her where she combines a modern pop-country sound with a clever lyric and melodic twist.

“When I am songwriting I like to incorporate a lot of grit into my melody and lyrics. I love putting a New Edge to my music so I call it Funkified - Country Soul.” ————

Two time Edmonton Music Award nominee for "Country Recording of the Year" & " People's Choice Award" you will find Brenda working with some of Canada’s finest Musicians. Brenda’s Producer and friend Bobby Cameron has been a huge positive influence on her sound and career! “He always knows how to get my crazy songwriting brain- On Track”.

On the cusp of her debut singles “ Shade’s On” and “Too Broke for Christmas” , Brenda will be releasing a Music Video of "Shades On" in July and a new single "Hell Ya'" coming to radio at the end of August. Brenda is always challenging herself on a day to day basis. She is on a mission to become the best possible version of herself that she can be. In hope’s that she can influence the world through her words in a positive way!

Brenda was raised on the outskirts of Edmonton near the town of Spruce Grove. As a kid, music was always a driving force in her life but she didn’t discover just how much until her early teenage year’s. Whenever her Grandpa or Dad was playing a song on the guitar she would stop what ever she was doing just to be able to dance along to the melody. Brenda can never understand how people can stay still when listening to a good beat. Halfway through middle school Brenda entered a guitar class. As soon as she learned her first 4 chords she dived right into writing and performing her songs!

“I would always catch Brenda singing on our drive’s home from school. When ever she sang I thought she was singing the lyric’s to a song. But when I asked her who wrote it, she just shrugged at me and told me she was just singing what ever words felt right. She truly see’s the world around her through music.” - Anna Dirk - Mother

In 2018, Miss Dirk has garnered herself an Edmonton Music Award for Country Recording of the Year & People's Choice nomination as well as a Canadian Association of Songwriters Semi-Finalist award, 4 ACMA - for consideration nominations for 2017: Fans’ Choice Award, Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year. With past performances at Big Valley Jamboree, The Needle Vinyl Tavern, CCMA’s ACMA showcase (Saskatoon) and Cook County Saloon to name a few, she’s getting ready to jump start her career with a fiery bang.

Once you have heard her, Brenda’s vocals and her “Funkified Country” song writing style combination, will have you acknowledging her in a unique category in the Music Industry.
