One may ask oneself, what place does a roaring fast punk rock lead have over floor rumbling hip hop break? Is that a glockenspiel on track 4? Who's the genius who put that organ on the "Rancid meets Eminem" inspired college anthem? If it weren't for all the rapping, could we even slap a genre on this project?
Fed off his high school diet of 90's Hip Hop and local Punk Rock bands, Clarity has always shuffled the line between locales. As an only child flung back and forth between a divorced parents, the boy grew up no stranger to contrast. His career of having one foot in one world and the rest of his toes in another continued all throughout his formative years, being the only child of a french mother and jewish father, and sticking out like a sore thumb at every school he attended.
The Montreal native, turned Toronto transplant, has been composing/producing his own brand of hip hop music since the age of 12. In the last 10 years he's completed six studio albums, some of which include appearances from Mac Lethal, Moka Only & D.O (of Art of Fresh). He's performed and toured extensively with his live band, holding 300+ shows under his belt in the last 2 years alone. His 2012 video "Meet Me @ The Park" currently boasts +26K views and rising, not to mention, Michel Pagliaro and Oliver Jones have both met and taken an interest in him. In the last few years, he's opened for distinguished acts such as Yelawolf, D12, Masta Ace, and performed at Montreal's renowned Osheaga festival. About a year ago, Myer was offered a contract with Vega Musique, a subsidiary of Universal, but turned down the offer, feeling the terms of the contract would not work to his advantage.
Fresh off a tour with USA's party rap group, the Bodega Brovas, Clarity proves that he's determined to have his name ring out in every town, burrow, and city he's ever performed in. With a Steven Martin-esque brand of humour, and a 12 song NOFX inspired studio album on the cusp of it's release, the shocking-yet-charismatic 22 year old punk rapper will have you bobbing your head, and getting another 40$ out of that seedy ATM machine with the 3.45$ usage fee just so you can buy his entire catalogue.
