Formed in Houston, Texas in 2012, Black Standard is locally growing at an increasing rate. With their first official EP released, countless local shows played, and a loyal local following, Black Standard has proven to be a driving force in melodic, groovy, and progressive music. From the days in the little room upstairs, to the stages of ballrooms and backyards, to the release of Something To Stand For (2013), Black Standard continues to impress. The guitar work, drum fills, and odd time signatures really characterize the sound of Black Standard, as does their presence on stage. Through trials and tribulations Black Standard has evolved to new heights. The future is now, and Black Standard has chosen to risk it all and dive head first into the world of metal. We hope to bring an army with us on our journey, as it will surely be a treacherous one. We need warriors of metal, hardened by the years of anguish for this quest.
