The Capitals

The whole story… Straight out of Pretoria, 'The Capitals' is a ridiculously casual, relatively good looking group of friends from all over South Africa. Formed in 2015, The Capitals was first known as "Up Sexy" and consisted of 5 people - Travis Mellett, Tanya Redinger, Ricky Eltze, Conrad Rudolph and Jonty Copeland - our focus is on creating an atmosphere where people feel a part of our lives, a part of the band and a part of the music. Because we’re all singers and songwriters, our music has been comprised of a huge mix of backgrounds and flavours, giving birth to peculiar song-babies that each have their own unique features. In February 2017 Tanya Redinger decided to step down from the band and we took up a new moniker - The Capitals. Making waves in Pretoria, and growing in Natal and Cape Town, The Capitals is slowly taking South Africa by storm. Having performed on the stages of some of South Africa’s renowned venues such as Arcade Empire, Rumours Lounge, Rumours Rock City and Oppi Koppi, The Capitals hopes to be bringing music to venues all over South Africa and beyond our borders. The Capitals likes having fun and we think you should too. We are The Capitals. We’re 3 guys making music that will make you bob your head and tap your feet. With the occasional shake of a hip as well.
