Robin April

Robin April Newman was born on September 30th, 1993 in Servierville, Tennessee. She later moved to Cleveland, Ohio after her parents divorce at age 3. She was raised on country music, but credit her insurgent teenage years for her broadened horizons. Her first pop influence was Miley Cyrus at the age of 12, and later that year she discovered Taylor Swift. This is where her love of songwriting came into fruition. She self taught herself the guitar at the age of 14, and competed in local talent shows all while being an avid youtube user. Some of her videos have reached as high as 100,000 views and counting. With over 1,000 subscribers, Robin left college at the age of 18 and set off to Nashville, Tennessee to chase her dream. During that period, Robin found her unique sound while going through some tumultuous times dealing with heartache and tough breaks. At the age of 21 she met with a group of musicians who helped her embark on her first real musical journey. She spent time in the studio cutting her first recorded original songs.
