About Lost Spaniards
José, Fran and Cyrus, three musicians from Barcelona and Granada, Spain, met at a rooftop party in West Hollywood hosted by another Spanish friend. The three connected through their musical interests and common hometown, and both wondered what the heck they were doing living so far from where they grew up.
Lost Spaniards first released the band’s debut EP, “Where Are We?” in late 2016. Lost Spaniards creates English-language Euro-Latin flavored music that combines pop, rock, and flamenco. Their songs focus on finding love and trying to live the leisurely Spanish lifestyle in bustling L.A. The band’s influences include the Spanish group Estopa, the flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia, Jack Johnson, Gipsy Kings and the Rumba Catalana.
“Our goal is to create a sound that’s a fusion of American popular music and Spanish flamenco,” José said. “It’s fun and upbeat. We want people to get excited when they hear our music.”
