About Alice Dix - Soprano

Alice’s most recent performing activity has been at events across the UK such as weddings and dining events for the Christmas Season. Currently in her second year at Leeds College of Music, studying Classical Performance for voice, Alice has discovered that she is a passionate and emotive performer and hopes to pursue a career in Opera performance. Her most recent performances have included playing the role of Lucy Lockit in Britten’s, The Beggar’s Opera for the Sounds Like This festival hosted by Leeds College of Music. She has also been a recent chorus member for Dorset Opera Festival in the opera Le Comte Ory by Rossini and Faust by Charles Gounod.

She began formal singing lessons in 2011 where she discovered an interest in the Classical genre. Whilst studying at Leeds College of Music (LCoM) she has been under the tuition of Mezzo-Soprano Adriana Festeu. Whilst studying at LCoM it has provided Alice with many performance opportunities. Previous performance opportunities include: performing in the Chamber Choir, the Opera Scenes project where she featured as a soloist and being chosen to perform at The New Music Collective Concert (2016).

In 2014 she was awarded Staffordshire's Young Singer of the Year, this led to other performance opportunities such as featuring as a soloist on Lichfield Cathedral’s Christmas CD (2014) singing ‘I wonder as I wander’ by Jacob John Niles and performing as a soloist at Birmingham Symphony Hall. In her successive years, she has been awarded the Moran and Lavy award for highest achiever and dedication to performing arts in Staffordshire; presented through The Friends of Staffordshire Young Musicians (FOSYM).
